Invest in Türkiye

Strategic Location: Türkiye is an attractive destination for foreign business owners to invest in and expand their business and also to whom prefers to realise a new environment for their lives. Türkiye plays its part as a natural bridge between Europe, Asia and Africa. At the crossroads of continents, Türkiye’s geography offers excellent access to global routes by air, land and sea. Türkiye is the centre of "Old World" (Latin: Mundus vetus). All these continents also influenced its eclectic culture. And because of historic and cultural causes, Türkiye is much bigger than its political borders.

Good Infrastructure: One of the most important factors attracting investments to Türkiye is the quantitative and qualitative development in the infrastructure in Türkiye, which makes it a suitable environment for all types of investments. Türkiye has made significant investments in its infrastructure, including modern transportation networks, energy projects and communication systems. These developments enhance the business environment and improve connectivity. One of the most compelling reasons for foreign investors to invest anywhere is the availability of the necessary infrastructure and lower transportation costs. Türkiye has undergone growth in basic infrastructures, such as transportation, communications, power and technical infrastructure, making it a magnet for foreign investment.

Skilled and Competitive Workforce: Türkiye has a population of more than 87 million people with a median age of 34. Therefore, in contrast to Europe, Türkiye’s population is young and continuing to grow. This demographic trend supports sustained economic growth and innovation. Türkiye’s young and well-educated population is a valuable asset, as investors face significant challenges elsewhere in Europe due to population aging and shrinkage. With its rising, young and vibrant population –the driving force behind a robust labour pool and a lucrative domestic market– Türkiye provides significant chances.

Robust Economy: With a diverse and growing economy, Türkiye offers a stable environment for investments. Türkiye’s impressive economic performance has encouraged experts and international institutions to make confident projections about Türkiye’s economic future.

Liberal Investment Environment: Türkiye’s investment legislation, characterized by simplicity and adherence to international standards. Special incentive laws are implemented to encourage international direct investments, protect investors’ rights and align investment practices with global standards. These laws encompass crucial principles such as freedom of investment, equal treatment, profit transfer, arbitration mechanisms, employment regulations. Türkiye enters into bilateral investment agreements with numerous countries to incentivize global investors and protect their interests within its borders. These agreements aim to foster economic cooperation by setting standards for investment treatment and dispute resolution mechanisms, ensuring a stable investment environment and facilitating capital flow between contracting parties.

The Incentives for the Foreign Investments: Türkiye offers many opportunities and investment incentives to foreign investors. The Turkish government actively supports foreign investment with a variety of incentives, including tax benefits, grants and subsidies. These initiatives are designed to attract and retain global investors. The Turkish government offers support programs for projects from many different sectors. Also, the investors are exempt from double taxation as you can choose to pay taxes only in Türkiye or transfer your earnings to your home country freely. Türkiye offers equal opportunities for local and international investors.

Simplified Turkish Nationality Process: Türkiye offers a straightforward path to Turkish Citizenship for foreigners who can enhance the economic and social fabric of the country by meeting buying property, investing, creating employment for local individuals, acquiring a deposit account or government bonds.

Aegean Region of Türkiye (Western Türkiye)

When it comes to Türkiye for international investment circles, İstanbul and its surroundings first come to mind. However, there are other regions of this great country that offer significant advantages. Perhaps the most important of these is Western Türkiye. This region, which has been the cradle of important civilizations throughout history, is blended with rich history and high culture, full of natural beauties and is the shining pearl of Türkiye. On this basis, the capacity to make suitable investments is very high.

We can examine this region under three sub-regions:

  • Province of İzmir: It can be said that the capital of the entire Aegean Region is İzmir. İzmir is the third most populous city in Türkiye, after İstanbul and Ankara. The city of İzmir has a population of 3.2 million in metro, while province has a total population of 4.5 million inhabitants. Lying on an advantageous location at the midway along the western Anatolian coast, İzmir has been one of the principal mercantile cities of the Mediterranean Sea for much of its history. At present, İzmir's economy is divided between various types of activities, as industry, trade and related services, tourism, agriculture, transportation and communication. The province as a whole is Türkiye's third largest exporter after İstanbul and Bursa, and the fifth largest importer. 85–90% of the Aegean Region's exports and approximately one fifth of all Turkish exports are made through the historical Port of İzmir (Alsancak) with an annual container loading capacity of close to a million.
